What Is a Good Ping for LoL? (2026 Guide)
In League of Legends, ping (latency) is the time between pressing a key and the action registering on the server. It is measured in milliseconds (ms), and lower is always better. So what counts as a “good” ping?
Ping Ranges
| Ping | Quality | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 0–30 ms | 🟢 Excellent | Ideal for competitive play, no perceptible delay |
| 30–60 ms | 🔵 Good | Smooth, responsive experience |
| 60–100 ms | 🟡 Fair | Noticeable delay, playable for most |
| 100 ms+ | 🔴 Poor | Clear stutter, rubber-banding, missed abilities |
You can measure your own ping right now with the main ping test tool.
More Than Ping: Jitter and Packet Loss
Even with a low average ping, the game can feel bad. Two more metrics matter:
- Jitter: the variation in your ping. A steady 40 ms is far better than a bouncy 40 ms. High jitter causes sudden lag spikes.
- Packet loss: data packets that never reach the server. Even above 1% is noticeable — abilities don’t fire, your champion teleports.
Our tool measures all three (ping, jitter, packet loss) plus a stability score.
Your Region Matters
The physically closer your server, the lower your ping. Test from your own region’s page — for example the North America (NA) ping test or the EU West (EUW) ping test.
Summary
Below 30 ms is excellent, below 60 ms is good. If you constantly see 100 ms+, check our guide on lowering ping.
