How to Check LoL Server Status (Region by Region)
Can’t log in, getting disconnected, or seeing high ping? The first question should be: is the problem you or the server? Here’s how to check LoL server status region by region.
1. The Official Riot Server Status Page
Riot maintains an official status page for each region. Maintenance, outages and known issues are posted there. Select your account’s region to see the current status.
2. Announcements in the Game Client
The LoL client shows maintenance and outage notices at launch. Watch for warnings on the login screen.
3. Is It You? — A Quick Test
If the server appears “up” but you’re lagging, the problem is most likely your connection. Run a ping test:
- High ping + packet loss → your own network (Wi-Fi, router, ISP). See the guide on lowering ping.
- Ping is normal but you can’t connect → likely server/maintenance related.
4. Maintenance Hours
Riot usually performs scheduled maintenance in the early morning. Regular, short outages are mostly planned maintenance — waiting is enough.
5. Community Resources
Sites like Downdetector and official social media accounts quickly show whether there’s a widespread outage. If many people are reporting at once, the problem is on the server side.
Summary
Check the official status page first, then use a ping test to isolate whether the problem is on your end. If your ping and packet loss are high, it usually comes back to your own network.
